They’ve Been Side By Side For 104 Years!
According to 104-year-old twins Simone Thiot and Paulette Olivier, the secret to a long and fruitful life might be simpler that what you might have imagined.
The sisters turned 104 on Jan. 30 after being born prematurely in 1912. With the odds being stacked against them ever since birth, they pulled together through into their 100’s. They insist that their close relationship with one another has been the key to their longevity.
“We are still alive because we have always stayed close. We keep our independence — each of us has her own room — but we only need to cross the corridor to see and talk to each other.” – One of the twins tells AFP
Thiot and Olivier currently live in a retirement home in Onzain in Central France. They attribute much of their long lives to having lived “a simple life with no excess”. They talk about abstaining from alcohol and having done lots of sports in their youth.
“We did gymnastics for a long time, and a huge amount of cycling — almost every day,”
Although it is not official, Thiot and Olivier are thought to be the title holders of the oldest twins in France. May you live many more years, Amen!
