99-Year-Old Wins Shopping Spree At 99 Cent Store, Buys Gifts For Kids In Need
As KTLA 5 reports, Donna Goldstein, 99, won a shopping spree at a 99 Cents Only store located just outside of Beverly Hills, California. Goldstein didn’t use the shopping spree to buy things for herself, however, she used the opportunity to load up on gifts for kids in need this holiday season.
She felt the love and the spirit of giving through her decision to use the shopping spree for the kids:
“I’m going to cry I’m so happy!” – Donna Goldstein
Donna was given an hour to get any item she wanted during the shopping spree. Along with stockings, Donna first picked out the essential items like toothbrushes and socks. But she also didn’t stop herself from getting some items that make life a little bit more joyful like holiday candy and Christmas ornaments.
Desiree Anderson, the PR and marketing coordinator for the 99 Cents Only Store says that the 99-year-old had an amazing time during the event.
Seeing that Goldstein used the shopping spree to give back to others, the store’s staff was prompted to give back to her. The employees got her a senior cake, balloons and flowers and sang her Happy Birthday.
The company is granting anyone who is turning 99 years old the pleasure of having a shopping spree at their stores. So far, the names of 7 senior citizens are up next to go shopping!
