Heartbreak Ensues After Campus Shooting In Arizona

Our hearts break as only a week after the devastating shooting on an Oregon Community College Campus, another shooting has occurred. Last night there was a confrontation between two groups of students at Northern Arizona University, at the Flagstaff Campus.

One freshman, identified as Steven Jones, pulled out a handgun and shot four members from the Delta Chi Fraternity. The reason for the altercation has not been released at this time, nor has the hospital released status conditions of the victims.

NAU School President Rita Cheng:

“This is not going to be a normal day at NAU…Our hearts are heavy.”

Of the 4 who were shot, one student, Colin Brough, has gone to be with our Lord. The other three victims who are currently being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center are Nicholas Prato, Kyle Zientek, and Nicholas Piring. Our prayers go out to the families of all those involved.

“Holy Lord,

We lift up our brother Colin to you Lord. We ask that you take him and cleanse his soul. We pray that he gets the opportunity to walk with you for all eternity. We also ask that you lay a hand of comfort and healing over Nicholas Prato and Kyle Zientek, and Nicholas Piring. We ask that you be with the families of all four of the victims, grant them peace from worry. Let them know that you are holding their loved ones in your hands.
