We Reserve The Right To Be Politically In-Correct
Outside of a Houston Restaraunt, a sign hangs proudly in defiance of modern day political correctness. The prominent sign in the front window displays a disclaimer to potential customers, unapologetically explaining the way they run their business.
The sign has been making headlines because in today’s society, just about any reference of certain groups, names, and titles, can be big no-no’s. They have been deemed offensive to groups that hold opposing viewpoints for the simple fact that they disagree. As not to offend, many people choose to cower to intimidation, censoring and correcting their speech and conduct accordingly.
The controversial sign reads “Notice, This Store Is Politically In-Correct, We Say Merry Christmas, God Bless America, We Salute Our Flag & Give Thanks To Our Troops, Police Officers & Fire Fighters. If This Offends You, You Are Welcome To Leave. In God We Trust.
With so many stories lately of groups trying to remove controversial slogans like, “In God We Trust” from U.S. currency and phrases like, “Under God” from the pledge of Allegiance. Even words like Christmas have become a contentious way to refer to the holiday season. With all the forced censorship it is good to know there are still people out there willing to stand and fight for what they believe in. After all, as long as the First Amendment continues to protect a citizen’s right to free speech, people will continue to proclaim what they believe; whether we agree or not. That is the point of “Free Speech,” and despite what some may think, that’s really the way it should be.
Merry Christmas. God Bless you all!
