They Were Inside Watching The Whole Thing Unfold
On Facebook over the weekend, a homeowner from Kingwood Texas, named Mike Wilcox, posted a video that is causing quite a stir online. The video shows a CenterPoint Energy contract worker, beat both of their dogs with a pipe wrench at their home in their own yard. The attack caused numerous injuries to their pets, including a concussion, missing teeth, and over $2000 in vet bills.
The facebook post describes the incident in detail:
“While we were home one morning, a couple of weeks ago, a Centerpoint worker comes into our backyard never knocking on our door and wakes up our dogs. Then proceeds to hit them with pipe wrench. My wife and kids watched all this from about 5 feet away. We filed a complaint with Centerpoint about this and have yet to hear back from them. Anyone who has ever met our pets can tell you how they are non-aggressive and never bitten anyone! Hoping by post this video we can get them to change their policy on how they handle pets and save the lives of other pets. Please share and tag others to make them aware of how Centerpoint will deal with your pets if they come into your yard.”
The owner, Wilcox said the dogs are both very friendly, despite that, “It was like the guy was swinging to kill.” Both dogs sustained injuries in the attack.
The entire scene played out on surveillance cameras situated around the house, “You can see the ripple right there,” said Willcox, pointing to the screen while watching the video Sunday afternoon. “It’s where his tooth went flying into the water.”
This all happened right in front of their 4-year-old son, who was crying the entire time and very upset.
According to KHOU, a spokesperson for Centerpoint released a statement saying:
“On Sunday afternoon, Olivia Ross, a spokesperson with CenterPoint Energy, sent KHOU 11 the following statement:
“We have determined that a CenterPoint Energy contractor was at this address on this date. CenterPoint Energy does not condone or tolerate abuse of animals by our employees or our contractors. We have notified the contract company and they have assured us that they will conduct a full investigation into the incident.”
The Wilcox family has sent the video to police for them to make their own investigation. They ask for your prayers for a good result during the dog’s surgeries.
