She And The Attendants That Stood In For Nurses Delivered A Healthy Baby

Los Angeles doctor Angela Zen and her husband were returning home from an overseas flight from Taiwan to Los Angeles back home after their honeymoon in Bali. Six hours into the flight and 30,000 feet in the air, one mother went into labor.

Flight attendants asked if there was a doctor and board and luckily there was.
Dr. Zen tells ABC7,

“My training is in internal medicine pediatrics so we do adults and kids but really no pregnant woman at all, so since my training we haven’t done much OBGYN…I was a little bit nervous.”

Although Dr. Zen had never delivered a baby by herself, but she didn’t hesitate to help. She was able to speak in Mandarin to the mother to deliver the baby.

Dr Zen tells ABC 7 that she was happy and relieved to see that the baby looked very healthy.
