She Was Searching For Inspiration

Joyce Torrefranca, a doctoral student, was walking down the streets in the Philippines when she saw something that completely inspired her. She saw a little boy kneeling under the light of a local McDonald’s finishing his homework. That entire day she’d been searching for something to inspire her, something that will keep her going in her studies. Seeing this little boy’s ambition to be someone in life immediately left her inspired.

According to Rappler, the little boy was 9-year-old Daniel Cabrera, and his tenacity to find the means to finish his homework by using the light emitting onto the street inspired Torrefranca.

“As a student it gave me an inspiration to work harder,” she tells Rappler. “I’m fortunate my parents were able to send me to school. I seldom go to coffee shops to study, but this kid just hit me. You really don’t need much, you just have to be determined and focused on the things that you want to achieve.”

Torreefranca said she hopes the that boy will inspire millions.

I got inspired by a kid ❤️
