Firefighter Plays “Happy Feet” For Child Who Was In Crash
D’IBERVILLE – This weekend one firefighter did all he could to help soothe a child laying on the ground after a crash. The crash involved one vehicle, a Lincoln SUV, on Interstate 10. Several residents, first responders, and one retired Los Angeles firefighter came to the rescue of 6 people who were in the crash.
“I saw five kids ejected,” says retired firefighter Rick Camarena. “I know trauma criteria; I helped them.”
The adult driving and four of the children were then taken to area hospitals but one child was still strapped in a child-restraint seat. D’Iberville firefighter Casey Lessard laid on the ground next to the child playing the animated film “Happy Feet” on his phone.
Fire Captain Darren Peterson says that “His firefighters do everything they can to calm and comfort children involved in traumas such as this.” – Sun Herald
In a result to this, the little boy calmed down “instantly.”
We would like to thank our everyday heroes for doing an amazing job! May God bless you abundantly!
