At times, being single might make you feel as if you’ll never fall in love with someone. During the holidays, it seems like those who have already found the love of their lives are living a happily ever after, while you are still searching for the one. Indeed, this scenario brings about a lonely feeling.
Fellow Christians, do not worry if tomorrow you’ll find your other half! Remember that to love someone else, we must first love our identity, and above all else: God.
Let us examine a promise Jesus made to humanity in the book of Matthew 6:33 that reads:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
To seek first God, means that all else will fall into place perfectly. We must not live for ourselves, but for the glory of God. And when the time is right, he will bring about many blessings to his followers. Self-respect and self-love is a fundamental part that you must go through in order to truly love someone else.
“Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good.” – Proverbs 19:8
In the meantime, serve God with all your heart and he WILL provide for you. With Him, there is nothing we can’t do!
“Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!” – Luke 12:24
God WILL bless you with love if you allow him to do so. Never lose faith! 🙂
