1.Choosing Wisely

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

In the 2nd letter to Corinthians 6:14, the congregations are given one simple advice on how future husbands and future wives should pick their mates.

2. The Promise

Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. … -1 Corinthians 7:1-40

Once you have started talking and in the dating process with someone “within the Lord”, you both need to have a talk about sex. Nowadays this seems old fashioned and its not something couples uphold. You must both promise to abstain from pre-martial sex. Save it for your wedding day! Bible principle

3. Popping The Question

22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
-Proverbs 18:22 NIV

While you have tested the waters during the dating stage, there will come a time in which you will need to pop the question! Remember to make it an unforgettable event that neither of you will forget.

4. Preparing For Marriage

And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.-Hosea 2:19

While engaged, both of you should talk financial planning for the wedding and the financial burdens ahead. At this point in time, you should not be living together, as it will tempt yourselves to give into your sexual desires.

5. Marriage

Let marriage be held in honor among all. – Hebrews 13:4

This is your wedding, enjoy it! Now you are conjoined as 1 flesh, and it is God’s will that you engage in sexual activity, while leading spiritually fulfilling lives.

6. Maintaining Communication

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

Do not let your marriage become old news. Do not ever let your marriage feel like a chore, that is when you know something has gone wrong.

7. Serve God Wholeheartedly as 1

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Above all, serve God wholeheartedly as 1. Take him into account in every decision you make, and rest assure that he will bring your life many blessings for years to come!
