Christian Customers Will Rejoice With Their Courageous Change
The National Center for Sexual Exploitation says, “Hilton has taken a stand against sexual exploitation. Pornography not only contributes to the demand for sex trafficking, which is a serious concern in hotels, but it also contributes to child exploitation, sexual violence, and lifelong porn addictions.”
Hilton Hotels and Resorts, which are run by Hilton Worldwide, announced something amazing. After receiving feedback from their customers, the company decided to no longer offer on-demand access to its guest in their rooms.
According to reports by Christian News, to the hotel industry, pornography is a lucrative business which can collectively make about $500 million for hotel chains yearly.
“We are making immediate changes to our global brand standards to eliminate adult video-on-demand entertainment in all our hotels worldwide. While the vast majority of our properties already do not offer this content today, this content will be phased out of all other hotels subject to the terms of their contracts.”
The Christian News Network reports that they will be cutting their contract with pornography providers starting in September. By July of next year, all of their hotel branches must be in compliance with their new restriction.
“We believe in offering our guests a high degree of choice and control during their stays with us, including Wi-Fi on personal devices. However, we have listened carefully to our customers and have determined that adult video-on-demand entertainment is not in keeping with our company’s vision and goals moving forward.”
Many human rights groups and Christians are applauding Hilton its new move in direction. Hilton, will clear its name from the National Center for Sexual Exploitation “dirty dozen” list. This list includes companies that precipitate sexual perversion and addiction.
Bob McCoskrie, from the Christian organization Family First, applauds Hilton and says,
“This is a great decision for families and for the protection of children. But it is also a great stand against sexual exploitation and recognizing the harms of pornography addiction,”
“Society is finally being woken up to the fact that pornography is harmful and leads to addictions, broken marriages, increased sexual violence, child sexual abuse, sex trafficking and prostitution.”
“Hilton is making a great choice not to profit from the harms of hardcore pornography. We now call on other hotel chains to adopt a similar policy,” he said.
We agree with McCoskrie. Pornography harmful to the spirit and society. We pray that other Hotel chains follow in Hilton’s footsteps in change!
