“Kissing Bugs” Called Triatomine Bugs Have Already Been Reported In Over 1/2 The Country
The CDC states that the bugs can carry the parasite Trypanosoma Cruzi that causes Chagas disease and can cause death.
NBC 5 reports that even dogs can contract Changas. It is said that 10 percent of dogs in South Texas animal shelters tested positive for the disease.
Although the likelihood of getting Chagas disease from these ‘kissing bugs’ in the United States is low you should still take the precautions because animal bites can transfer the deadly disease.
