Soccer Player’s Enthusiasm Inspires Others!
One high school soccer player from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has made quite the reputation for himself.
Emmanuel Hilton, Blackhawk High School’s Junior Varsity goalie, was born without legs.
“I was born with no legs, and my mom, she couldn’t take care of me and she throw me away, she didn’t like me. So I was handicapped. And she threw me in the middle of the road, like when a car passes, somebody can hit me and I can die.”
Hilton survived the assault and was rescued by a woman who then took him to an orphanage in the African nation of Congo.
Years passed by, and Michelle Hilton and her husband, a Methodist pastor in Chippewa, decided to adopt him and bring him into their loving home in Pittsburgh where he developed some acute soccer skills as a goalie.
“He inspires so many guys, he inspires me to come out and do my job better. The guys see him moving and they pick up their intensity. He’s completely exceeded our expectations.” -Coach Bryan Vitali.
