Firefighters have rescued three people along the Los Angeles River. The crew responded to the incident along the San Fernando and Elm in Cypress Park around 7 a.m.

Two male adults and a dog were dragged into the river as it swelled from its usual level to a raging torrent. The waters were so heavily powerful, that the firefighters had to tether themselves to the shore of the river. One of the victims was transported to a nearby medical center for non-major injuries. The 2 men and their dog survived the incident.
