She Didn’t Come Out Of The Store Till 40 Minutes Later
A Florida mother, Talisha Martin, went on social media to try and defend herself and her actions of the previous day. She had left her child in the car at a Walmart parking lot unsupervised and was arrested for child neglect.
“Getting ready to go out to eat me and Scott to try to take your mind off things a little which one are probably happened but we’re going to try!”
According to Talisha, she left her son in the car for only 7 minutes so that she could run into the store for some toilet paper.
“I had my son with me he wanted to stay in the car playing in the phone with the AC on the windows up in the car locked since I was only going to be a few minutes cuz I was just getting one thing n coming out.”
However, the Palatka Police Department had a different version of the story:
They did find that the air was on, but it was blowing out hot air. Talisha kept with her story by saying that her son wanted to stay in the car. But really is that reason enough?
Police say that when asked, the boy said he was “…scared because my mommy left me.”
Police also found out that her 7 minutes inside the store were actually 40. When confronted, she was found slurring words and didn’t even realize that her son wasn’t with her until they spoke about it.
“When Martin walked outside to her vehicle Officer Cassio made contact with her. He noted her speech was stuttered and slurred. She did not realize her child was no longer in the vehicle until Officer Cassio asked her if something was missing.”
