Pregnant Orangutan Enjoys Some Snacks While Getting An Ultrasound

Zookeepers at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C, posted this lovely video of an orangutan getting an ultrasound. The 19-year-old orangutan named Batang became pregnant in January and is due in September. For the past 3 years, the zookeepers have been training Batang for motherhood.

Batang’s species is native to Indonesia and have become critically endangered. You can see her in the video having a snack while getting her ultrasound taken, it’s so adorable!
