Be Careful And Check Your Wipes, Huggies Users!
About a day ago, one mom uploaded a video to Facebook where she described her experience of discovering sharp material in her baby wipes. In the video, you can see glimmer of what appears to be a solid speck of material, rather than just the moisture in the wipe. She also showed tiny cuts she sustained over time on her fingers from using the wipes on her children.
Soon after, many others began to upload videos and post on Facebook about what they found in their wipes. No serious injuries have been reported, but some argue that it is glass, while others say it’s fiberglass and it caused the development of rashes on their children.
Huggies received many complaints over the past 24 hours and have released a statement on their official Facebook in regard.
“Hello Huggies Parents,
As some of you may have heard, a concern about our wipes was raised recently on Facebook. We take any concerns about our products very seriously and we are working directly with this parent to learn more about what happened and how we can help. Nothing is more important than the safety of the little ones who use our products.
Families put their trust in Huggies wipes every day, and all of our Huggies products have been thoroughly evaluated to ensure they are safe. In addition, we have stringent quality controls in place, and no glass is used during the manufacture of our wipes. As parents ourselves, we know you may have additional questions or concerns. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at http://bit.ly/8ZuAUH or by phone at 1-888-485-6839.”
One customer has sent in a sample of her baby wipes; Huggies has yet to examine it and release another statement on that as well. Below is a video uploaded by a user named Melissa. Again, whether it is glass, fiberglass, or something else, is up in debate. What do you think it could be?
