A mother in Westbrook, Nicole Jensen, is upset with police after they picked up her 7-year-old daughter, Brooklynn, at a park a few hundred feet away from her house.
Officers told her that they picked the child up from a park, adding that she was unsupervised.
Jensen said she lets her kids play together there because she can see them from her porch. The kids also check in with her every hour.
“I can usually count on at least a dozen that I know and that she plays with,” Jensen told WMTW. “We watch each other’s kids. I don’t just send her over here and ignore her all day.”
But when they found her daughter, she was alone. Police charged Jensen with child endangerment.
