Taylor Swift Sends Motivating Message To Girls Around The World During Grammys Acceptance Speech
During her recent 2016 Grammy win for “Album of the Year,” Taylor Swift used her acceptance speech as a different type of platform. Rather than the usual “thank you’s,” and acknowledgements, or even anything about her award, Swift instead spent her time on stage sending out a very empowering and motivational message that went out to girls worldwide; and it is something every girl should hear.
Here is a transcript of what she said:
“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she said. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”
At a time in history where positive role models, and strong character, is becoming harder and harder to come by- a light in the darkness will always shine a lot brighter than usual. It takes a lot of guts especially for a celebrity to break away from the norm, to get on stage and take the focus off of themselves, and in exchange for doing something positive for someone else. I for one will be praying for Taylor in her future endeavours,
I for one will be praying for Taylor in her future endeavours because the world needs more people like her.
