Washington Teen Suffers Brain Bleed After Attempting This Trending “Challenge”

A 14-year-old’s life has been forever changed after he sustained serious injuries while playing a popular game that’s trending in today’s youth.

Skylar Fish took part in a game called the ‘duct tape challenge’, a dangerous game of freeing oneself from duct tape.

The incident took place on January 16th, his friends decided to tape Fish while he was standing up.

The duct tape directly didn’t harm Fish, it was the attempt to break out of it that caused him to fall over and hit his head on a window frame and smash onto concrete.

“When he fell, he hit the corner of the window frame. It crushed his whole eye socket and pinched off nerves in his eye.” – Skylar’s mom, Sarah Fish

Doctors are unsure if Skyler Fish will ever get his vision back on the damaged eye. Skyler Fish doesn’t know if he’ll ever get his vision back in that eye.

There is growing concerns over these “challenges” that teens are coming up with. With each challenge becoming more and more dangerous, who knows what might come from them. If you YouTube search for “Duct Tape Challenge”, you’ll find more than 232,000 videos of people attempting such act.

Skyler Fish is now determined to raise awareness about these dangerous games:

“They’re just looking at what’s fun, what’s cool, what’s going to impress their friends, ‘I can break out of this duct tape. I’m the strongest. I’m the best.’ They’re not thinking, ‘What if I fall and hit my head?'”
