Breathing exercises


Harvard-trained Dr. Andrew Weill has been a pioneer in what is described as a ‘natural tranquilizer for the nervous system’. His breathing exercises help to quickly reduce tension and allowing the body to relax and fall asleep.

This simple breathing exercise is called the “4-7-8” technique. You start by touching the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth. Keep it there! Then, breathe out, empty those lungs.

Close your mouth and breathe through your nose for 4 seconds. Now hold your breath for a count of 7 and blow all of the air out through your mouth forcefully for 8 counts. Go ahead and repeat this exercise 4 times and you’ll be asleep in no time!
