There is a dangerous game going around on social media encouraging children to pray to a demon. The “Charlie Charlie Challenge,” the newest game sensation being played by children and adults throughout the world. Kids are now sharing videos with #CharlieCharlie, challenging each other to summon an evil spirit from Mexico. After millions of shares church leaders are responding.
Pastor Tim Rolen warns parents about the Charlie Challenge in Sunday Service saying, “This could be an entry into something deeper, as a Christian, if you believe in God there is also this awareness out of the scripture that there are demons in this world. This challenge asks children to pray to a demon, so that demon can give you directions.”
The Godfruits take-away: We want to warn parents that this is something their children may be exposed to. It is important to direct them to the truth. There is no such thing as “innocently playing with demons.”
Keep these bible verses in mind:
And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. DT 18:1
The nations you are about to displace consult sorcerers and fortune-tellers, but the Lordyour God forbids you to do such things.Deuteronomy 18:1
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galations 5:19-20
