This Is Exactly What The Average Households Around The World Eat

Photographer Peter Menzel and writer Faith D’Aluisio made it a mission to document what is it exactly that humans around the world eat. They call their project “Hungry Planet,” and it’s beginning to open some eyes to the world around us.

Their book, “Hungry Planet: What the World Eats” in 2005, showcased common meals in 24 countries.

1. Germany. Food Expenditure for One Week: € 253.29 ($325.81 USD).
